Introduction

The Noir Equus Freedom Table Lamp Sculpture brings the strength and quiet nobility of the horse into your living space as both a sculptural object and a source of warm light. Created for Dea’rt Istanbul by artist and restorer Derya Kurdoğlu, this table lamp features a powerful horse bust in deep coffee black tones, crowned with a black fabric lampshade whose inner surface glows in soft antique gold.

Placed on a side table, console or bedside, it feels less like a simple lamp and more like a character in the room – a guardian of focus, calm and freedom.

Inspiration Freedom Strength and Night Light

Horses have long symbolized freedom, courage and forward motion. Kurdoğlu translated this symbolism into a sculptural bust with carefully modeled muscles, attentive ears and flowing mane, capturing the moment between alertness and rest.

The dark, almost bronze like body is enriched with delicate gold and platinum touches along the mane, while the black shade with golden interior creates a dramatic light pool when the lamp is switched on. The result is an atmospheric night light that suggests a private study, a rider’s lounge or a cinematic reading corner.
